Have you always wanted to tread the boards as a pantomime dame, be a thigh slapping hero or get the audiences booing as an evil villain?
We are holding open auditions for our community pantomime ‘Dick Whittington & His Cat’ on Sunday 19 August and we need you!
All parts are up for grabs! So if you are a budding actor, singer or dancer and above the age of 16 then come along to the Harrow Arts Centre to audition.
Audition details
When: Sunday 19 August (10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm)
How: No need to prepare anything – just fill in the registration form and we’ll confirm your audition session
You will need to come in comfortable clothing and don’t forget your water!
What will the auditions involve?
We have roles available for just actors, just singers and just dancers as well as those of you who want to do a bit of everything and what you will do at the audition will generally depend on what you're interested in doing.
We will be running the auditions as workshop sessions where you’ll work as a group - be taught a song from the pantomime, read a bit from the script and learn a short dance routine. Don’t worry as you can choose to opt out of bits you aren’t comfortable with.
When are the rehearsals and performances?
Rehearsals will start on Tuesday 18 September and from then on rehearsals will take place on Sunday afternoons (2-5pm) and Tuesday evenings (7.30-9.30pm). Rehearsals from the 9 December may be longer sessions but if you are successful you will receive a detailed rehearsal schedule.
Performances will take place in December on:
• Wednesday 19 December – matinee (1pm)
• Thursday 20 December – matinee (1pm) & evening (5pm)
• Friday 21 December – evening (7pm)
• Saturday 22 December – matinee (1pm) & evening (5pm)
• Sunday 23 December – matinee (1pm) & evening (5pm)
Please note that if you are away or unavailable for any of the performance dates then we are sorry but you won’t be able to take part.
How will I know if I am successful?
We will let you know either way by email, phone or post as long as you have filled in the registration form correctly. If you have been successful then we will also tell you what part you have.
I’m interested in being involved – so how much is it going to cost?
It will cost you absolutely nothing to be involved – all you have to do is commit your time and put a lot of hard work in and you will get the opportunity to be involved in a production which is directed and designed by a professional team of artists.
I’m interested – what do I do now? Apply Now!
We look forward to meeting you and hope you can join us on our pantomime adventure!
