StarsInMyEyes.
What do I do if I forget my password?
If you've forgotten or lost your password you can request a reminder by completing
our
lost password form
How can I make sure I receive emails from StarsInMyEyes?
Junk mail filters can often cause more problems than they solve because it means people don't receive emails they really want. You can help overcome this problem by adding us to your address book or safe senders list.
CLICK HERE to see our handy guide on how to do this!!
Why can't I see certain menus and information on the site?
This site uses javascript to display certain information and you need to make sure
that javascript is enabled on your browser.
Are all these jobs for real? Some of them sound too good to be true!
All listings submitted for inclusion on the site are vetted by our editorial team in order to satisfy ourselves that they are genuine opportunities. WE DO NOT PUBLISH LISTINGS THAT WE KNOW TO BE FAKE OR MISLEADING. If you find a listing that you believe is misleading or fraudulent please inform us so we can investigate.
What is the best resolution for viewing the site?
In order to appreciate everything our web site has to offer we recommend a MINIMUM
browser resolution of 1024x768. You will still be able to see all of the information
at a lower resolution (e.g. 800x600) but you will find that you will need to use
a horizontal scroll on some pages, and certain elements of a page (e.g. tabs) may
appear in slightly the wrong position.
I submitted a support enquiry but have not received an acknowledgement or a reply?
We aim to answer all enquiries within 4 working hours. If you have not received
a reply within that timescale you should first of all check to see whether emails
from starsinmyeyes.tv are being placed in a spam folder. Holders of free email addresses
such as Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail etc should be especially careful of this. You should
allow starsinmyeyes.tv as a 'non-spam' sender. Certain email addresses (such as
libraries) do not permit incoming emails and you will never get a reply from us.
If you think that this may be causing a problem for you then we recommend that you
submit an enquiry using an alternate email address (perhaps that of a friend) ...
if you do this, make sure that you include the email address which you used to register
so that we can identify you!
CLICK HERE to read our guide on how to help ensure you receive our emails.
How do I know my personal and financial details are secure?
Your profile control panel is protected by enhanced security that encrypts all data using 128bit encryption. We use an SSL certificate that confirms communication between your browser and secured areas of our website is encrypted. Whenever you are in a secure area of our web site you will see a padlock symbol

displayed on the address bar of your browser in Internet Explorer, on the bottom right in Firefox or on the top right in Safari. You can confirm the validity of our SSL certificate by clicking (or double-clicking in Firefox) the padlock to display the security credentials.
When you set up a subscription you are transferred to a secure server on the Barclays Bank EPDQ network where you will also see a padlock symbol

displayed in your web browser. You can verify the security credentials of Barclays Bank in the same manner as described above.
How will I know if my applications are reaching the right people?
Unlike some of our competitors, the vast majority of opportunities displayed on
StarsInMyEyes provide you with DIRECT contact information for the advertisers so
you will always be in control and you will always know that your applications aren't
just disappearing into a database somewhere! There are occasions though when the
advertiser will ask us to compile a list of interested subscribers on their behalf;
on these occasions we will ask you to complete a short registration form so that
your details can be passed to the advertiser along with everyone else's!
What is your Privacy Policy and am I able to see what personal information you hold
for me?
StarsInMyEyes dot TV is registered with the Information Commissioner and we comply
with the requirements of the Data Protection Act. All of the information held about
you can be viewed by logging into your profile. You can view our Privacy Policy
by

I'm entering my user name and password correctly but I cannot log in?
It sounds like your browser is blocking our cookie. You can try a quick test to
see if cookies are enabled on your browser by running a simple test ... when you
click on the link that follows you will be taken to a new page - if it's blank it
means cookies aren't enabled in your browser, if it contains a long string of 'gobbledeegook'
that means cookies ARE enabled! You will need to use your browser BACK button to
come back to this page once you've run the test ... when you're ready to run the
test
If cookies aren't enabled then here's a guide on what to do : In Internet Explorer
you should select Tools | Internet Options | Privacy from the drop-down menu, and
then click on the 'sites' button. In the field marked 'address of web site' enter
http://www.starsinmyeyes.tv and then click on the button marked
'allow'. Then click on 'OK' until the windows are all closed. In Firefox you should
select Tools | Options and then click on the 'privacy padlock' symbol. There should
be a tick in the box marked 'allow sites to set cookies'; if this box is ticked
and you're still having a problem then click on the 'exceptions' button, enter in
the 'address of web site' field, click on the 'allow' button and then click 'close'
followed by 'ok'. If you are still unable to log in then it's possible there is
an error with your registration profile and we will need to investigate. Please
submit a support request using our
contact form.
How can I submit an opportunity to be listed on your web site?
If you want to submit an audition or other opportunity to be published on StarsInMyEyes you'll need to create a
commercial registration (don't worry, there's no fee!) - if you already have a commercial registration with us all you need to do is log in and then click on 'Add Listing' on the top menu!
When a listing states 'travel expenses' does this mean that I will be paid my travel
costs to an audition?
This is highly unlikely. What this normally means is that travel expenses will be
paid for anyone that is cast in the production. This term is normally used for low-budget
films where there is no (or little) fee for the actual work involved.
When I click on some menu items or options, nothing happens?
Certain parts of our web site use pop-up windows to display information; if you
have a pop-up blocker activated in your web browser then you need to modify its
settings so that it 'allows' pop-ups from starsinmyeyes.tv
Is it essential that I have previous experience?
No, not really! Sometimes a 'fresh face' is just what's wanted! Without a doubt,
experience can be useful and certainly list details of any previous experience in
your profile. Listings often state whether experience is required - be mindful of
this when you apply!
Someone told me that I need to be a member of Equity before I can get work in TV,
movies or the theatre - is that true?
No! It used to be the case but Margaret Thatcher outlawed 'closed shops' so you
no longer need to be an Equity member to be able to work in front of camera or on
stage.
Do I get to pick and choose what work I do?
The short answer to that question is yes - you're your own boss! The long answer
though is that it's advisable to accept any work that's offered to you (within reason)
- it's all experience and builds up your portfolio and you wouldn't be serving your
own best interests if you got a reputation for being picky. Expecting to work only
in something that really appeals to you is fine, it just limits your options one
helluva lot!
If I join an agency will I be expected to pay commission?
First of all we must stress that StarsInMyEyes is NOT an agency - we do NOT offer
employment to any of our members, merely provide the information they need to attend
auditions and apply for opportunities.
If you choose to join an agency you should be aware that most agencies will charge
a commission to artists of between 10% and 20% (normally around 13% to 15%). Joining
an agency can be a sensible move as some of the major productions will only recruit
background artists/extras via an agency. Bear in mind that the agency will probably
have to charge VAT on their commission, and will also have to deduct national insurance.
Are there any age limits on who can register?
There is no age restriction on who can be a registered subscriber but our Terms
& Conditions require that any person under the age of 18 has obtained the permission
of the person whose payment details are provided for the subscription. If you are
a parent registering on behalf of a child then you the details you use for registration
should be those of the child that's being registered - you will only need to supply
your OWN details for the payment pages at Barclays EPDQ.
What does 'actable age range' mean in my profile?
Most people can pass for younger or older than their actual age; some are lucky
enough to get away with 10 or even 20 years younger, whilst others can pass for
several years older. If you're unsure of your actable age range, just choose no
specified in your profile.
Why do you charge a subscription fee?
Building and maintaining a site like this involves a whole load of hard work! Apart
from months of work designing and constructing the site, there's all the ongoing
work required to populate the site with all the latest opportunities, remove 'dead'
information and monitor the quality of all the leads we provide. StarsInMyEyes is
NOT an agency and we do NOT charge or take commissions of any sort so we have to
charge a subscription fee in order to maintain the quality of service provided.
How much work can I expect to get and how long will it take to start coming in?
There are no guarantees in this industry; even well known celebrities have dry periods!
You are free to apply for as many opportunities as you wish and your success will
depend on your suitability for the opportunity. If the advertiser is interested
in you, they will make direct contact.
Where can I view your Terms & Conditions?
Our full terms and conditions can be
found here

you can call 0844 448 4439(this number is also shown at the bottom of every page
on our web site) - however, before calling us please review these

If you are only a basic subscriber you will not be able to access that information and will need to upgrade. In particular, please note that we cannot accept cancellation requests
over the telephone - these must be submitted via your profile control panel (you
need to be logged in to do this and you will find instructions on the 'Your Account'
tab.
How can I cancel my subscription?
Cancelling your subscription is a straightforward process but it MUST
be done via your profile control panel. We cannot accept cancellations
by telephone or via a support ticket or email. If you request a cancellation by
any of those means we will be unable to process your request and your subscription
will NOT be cancelled.
To cancel your subscription all you need to do is log in, click on 'Edit Profile'
and then select the tab marked 'Your Account' where you will find an option to unsubscribe.
Our payment gateway automatically processes recurring billings in the early hours of the morning on the date they are due, therefore in order to ensure that no further payments are taken against a subscription, the unsubscribe process MUST be submitted not later than 5.00pm (1700H) UK time on the day before the next subscription payment is due.

I submitted a support ticket but I've not received a reply?
We aim to respond to all support tickets within four working hours. When you submit
a support ticket you will receive an on screen acknowledgement that provides you
with a tracking ID - it's a good idea to make a note of this. An email confirmation
will be sent to you - if you don't receive this, check your spam folder. You should
also add starsinmyeyes.tv to the 'safe' senders list of your email account - this
is especially important if you use free services such as Hotmail, GMail, Yahoo,
Tiscali, etc. If you do not receive an email advising you that we've added a reply
to your question then you can access your original support ticket by visiting our
support ticket system and entering the tracking ID - if you've lost the tracking
ID you can request a reminder by entering your email address in the box provided
- however, if you're going to do this it's important to make sure you've added starsinmyeyes.tv
to your 'safe' senders list otherwise the email providing you with the tracking
ID may go into spam as well!
