Britain Does Variety is a nationwide quest to prove that BRITAIN really DOES have TALENT and auditions are taking place in ALDERSHOT on Sunday 11th March 2012
In 2011 acts from around Britain auditioned in front of a panel of industry judges to compete for a place in one of the regional shows which take place in some of Britain's best theatres, with each show staged and managed by an experienced, professional team. All sorts of acts took part including comedians, magicians, singers, dancers, novelty acts, impressionists, musicians, glee clubs, aerialists and so much more.
In 2012 ALL acts that make it through to the National Grand Finals get to appear on Sky's Showcase TV and perform in front of the UK's leading booker of entertainment for the most prestigious cruise lines in the world, and at least one act will be selected to perform at London's O2!
Several acts that took part have gone on to appear on nationwide TV and perform in countrywide theatre productions.
Acrobats, Animal Acts, Comics, Dancers, Glee Clubs, Gymnasts, Impressionists, Jugglers, Magicians, Mime Artists, Musicians, Show Choirs, Singers, Ventriloquists, Vocal Groups, Buskers, Beatboxers, Contortionists, Footballers, Crazy Acts, Entertaining Acts, Wacky Acts, Modern Variety, Musical Theatre, Theatrical, Impersonators, Lookalikes ... if you're entertaining we'll audition you! We're looking for REAL talent ... we don't plan on putting through those 'car crash' acts you so often see on TV!
Britain Does Variety is all about finding undiscovered REAL talent, across the entire nation. Auditions start in February and continue into early-April. Acts will audition in front of industry judges to compete for a spot in one of the regional finals, which take place in some of the UK’s best theatres!
The best variety acts from each region, as decided by the professional judging panel and the audience, will make it through to the National Grand Final in June. They’ll then have the chance to compete for various prizes including the opportunity to perform at the O2, share in a prize fund worth thousands of pounds in cash, plus a whole host of other prizes.
Perhaps more importantly, representatives from some of the UK’s leading entertainment agencies will be watching for any new talent they think could take 2011 by storm and be Britain’s next big thing!
